Two Victoriaville Tigres players are being investigated for sexual assault allegations, the QMJHL announced on Tuesday.
“The Tigres and the QMJHL take these allegations very seriously and will provide their full cooperation with the police authorities while they conduct their investigation,” the QMJHL’s statement read.
According to Montreal Journal writer Felix Seguin, the players were arrested on Tuesday as part of an investigation stemming from a party on Saturday evening. The incident took place after the Tigres won the QMJHL championship for the second time in tournament history.
The identity of the players have not been shared as formal charges have not been filed yet.
