The Brookyln Nets travel to the Amalie Arena to do battle with the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night.
The Brooklyn Nets have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their past eight games and they will be aiming for a third straight win after taking down the Suns in a 128-119 home win on Sunday. Kyrie Irving led the way with 34 points and 12 assists on 10 of 19 shooting, Kevin Durant came off the bench to add 33 points in just 28 minutes of action while Blake Griffin chipped in with 16 points on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Nets shot 52 percent from the field and 13 of 28 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and fell behind by 13 points early, before taking control of the game with 38 points in the third quarter and scoring another 31 points in the fourth quarter to win comfortably in the end.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in great shape as they’ve won five of their past six games and they will be hoping to stay hot after routing the Cavaliers in a 112-96 home win last night. Pascal Siakam led the team with 25 points five rebounds and four assists, OG Anunoby added 20 points on nine of 15 shooting while Malachi Flynn chipped in with 18 points and five assists off the bench. As a team, the Raptors shot a healthy 54 percent from the field and eight of 29 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after scoring just 16 points in the second quarter, before taking over in the second half where they poured in 63 points. Kyle Lowry scored just nine points on three of nine shooting while Fred VanVleet scored just eight points on three of 10 shooting.
I will update with betting trends once they become available.
The Raptors have started to turn things around with five wins in their last six games and they will take plenty of confidence from last night’s win over the Cavaliers as they won despite poor shooting nights from Lowry and VanVleet. However, while the Nets haven’t been at their best lately, they’re coming into this one with plenty of momentum after beating the Celtics and the Suns. This would be a major score of the Raptors if they were able to pull off the upset, but I think it’s too tough a task to beat them on zero days’ rest. Give me the Nets to get the win and cover in this spot.
