The New Orleans Pelicans could have one of the most intriguing NBA storylines of the offseason. It includes Zion Williamson and his current desire to remain with the Pelicans long-term. If this desire is not there, they will have to make sure that it comes in some sort of way.
This could be by continuing to add the right pieces around him. Outside of Brandon Ingram, the Pelicans struggle with depth and explosiveness in the lineup. They have been unable to clinch a postseason spot in each of the two years Williamson has been on the team.
While it is still a work in progress, fans and players become impatient once they begin losing. This could happen soon in New Orleans if they do not make a splash.
The Toronto Raptors could be another team looking to make an impact move. Toronto finished near the bottom of the Eastern Conference this season, which was not expected coming in. They have been near the top of the conference for years now, including a championship two years ago with Kawhi Leonard on the roster.
Well, Leonard is gone and the Raptors have taken a big step back. Masai Ujiri is one of the best front-office minds in the game and will have to figure out how to get Toronto back near the top.
If a trade like this is on the horizon, both sides could benefit. Let’s take a closer look at how the steel might go down between both sides.
