Report: Hawks hire former Knicks, Raptors forward Fields as assistant GM

The Atlanta Hawks are hiring former NBA forward Landry Fields as an assistant general manager under Travis Schlenk, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 32-year-old Stanford graduate has been serving as the general manager of the San Antonio Spurs’ G League affiliate in Austin since last September, after joining the franchise as a scout in 2016.

Fields played five years in the league from 2010-15 – two with the New York Knicks and three with the Toronto Raptors – averaging 6.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He was an All-Rookie First Team selection in 2011.
