Toronto Raptors superfan Nav Bhatia delivered hot meals and a heartfelt thank you to front-line staff at Amica at Stoney Creek.
Bhatia took part in a brief drive-by visit at the King Street retirement residence on June 2. More than a dozen staff members greeted him in front of the home’s main entrance, with many decked out in Raptors gear.
Bhatia hasn’t missed a Toronto Raptors game since 1995. During the coronavirus pandemic, his charitable Superfan Foundation has been delivering meals to front-line health-care workers, staff at retirement and long-term care homes, food banks and shelters.
During his visit to Amica, Bhatia spoke briefly to staff before distributing meals from his Superfan Foundation truck.
“You are keeping our seniors safe, and I thank you for that,” Bhatia told the workers.
Amica at Stoney Creek community relations director Carly Gagnon contacted Bhatia through his foundation and was thrilled when the businessman and philanthropist accepted the invitation.
“We have lots of Raptors superfans here,” said Gagnon.
