According to what insiders are telling Chris Creamer of SportsLogos.Net — your trusted source for uniform news — the Raptors reportedly have plans to re-jig their uniforms once again. Yes, we haven’t yet finished the 2019-20 season, but we’re already talking about next year’s duds.

To that end, Creamer says his information is solid. As per the post, Toronto is apparently looking to double-down on their famous red chevron-centric uniforms the team wore on their march to the 2019 NBA championship. While I admit that those jerseys are not my favourite, any decision that pushes out a reminder of the Raptors’ recent title is a win in my books. And as Creamer mentions, the chevron has long be a part of the team’s identity, dating back to those side chevrons on the purple jerseys of Vince Carter’s heyday in 2000. We’ve come a long way with the Raptors — but also, history is important.

For MLSE, any uniform change is, of course, a smart business venture. Fans love jerseys, and consumers tend to like new stuff. With the league currently suspended and revenue down across the board in a major way, it should come as no surprise that the corporate interests behind the Raptors are looking for ways to juice the team’s income.

In that sense, there’s nothing quite like a uniform re-think and re-launch. We’ll keep you posted on any details that may come out in this regard. In the meantime, use your imagination!
