Landry Fields on his mysterious and ill-fated Raptors tenure – The Athletic


Landry Fields still doesn’t know exactly what happened with his right wrist. Or his elbow. Or his hand. No one seems quite sure.

To this day, the presumed nerve issue that cost him his jump shot and, ultimately, his NBA career persists. When he finds himself missing the court the most, he’ll go and put up some shots, hoping that maybe one day the issue will resolve itself.

“(The nerve issue is) still happening, so I guess that comeback will have to wait until I’m 40,” Fields joked.

Fields cited the Michael Jordan documentary, “The Last Dance,” as the inspiration for his most recent shooting session. But really, it has more to do with the fact he didn’t get to dictate the end of his playing career.
