Khem Birch made his presence felt in his short time with the Toronto Raptors this season.

In 19 games with the Raptors, 17 of which he started in, Birch averaged 11.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.8 steals, all of which were career highs. He ended the season with seven straight double-digit scoring games, the longest such streak of his career.

With Toronto’s season now over, Birch took to social media to thank the organization for an “incredible opportunity,” adding that it was a “dream come true.”

The Montreal native joined the Raptors after he was waived by the Orlando Magic following this season’s trade deadline. He is set to be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, allowing him to sign with any team in the league.

According to TSN’s Josh Lewenberg, Birch said fit is as important as money to him in free agency.

“I got lucky,” he said. “If I would’ve stayed in Orlando people probably would’ve thought I’m just a regular bench big who can’t score. I’m fortunate these guys believed in me.”
