The Houston Rockets play host to the Toronto Raptors at the Toyota Center on Monday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in terrible form as they will be hoping to put an end to an eight-game skid after last night’s 116-105 road loss to the Cavaliers. Fred VanVleet led the team with 23 points and seven assists on eight of 24 shooting, Norman Powell and Kyle Lowry each scored 18 points while OG Anunoby chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 38 percent from the field and 15 of 46 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start, before getting blown out in the second and third quarters where the Cavaliers poured on a combined 68 points as they just had no answer for Collin Sexton. The Raptors simply got nothing out of their bench who combined for just 20 points as on reserve player scored more than five points.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been in worse form as they are now mired in a 20-game losing streak after last night’s 114-112 home loss to the Thunder. Christian Wood led the team with 27 points on nine of 16 shooting, John Wall added 24 points with seven assists, Victor Oladipo scored 23 points with six assists while Danuel House Jr. chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 49 percent from the field and 14 of 38 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, only to go ice-cold when it mattered as they scored just two points in the final 2:45 which was the difference in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days’ rest, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team below .400 and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. The Rockets are 6-21 ATS in their last 27 home games, 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games playing on zero days’ rest and 16-39 ATS in their last 55 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall and the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Houston.
Two of the coldest teams in the league collide in this one as the Raptors put their eight-game slide up against the Rockets who have now lost 20 in a row.
