Australian Boomers finalise Olympic team for Tokyo Games


The Australian Boomers have today unveiled its final 12-man roster that will pursue a maiden Olympic Games medal in Tokyo.

Brian Goorjian’s side is headlined by the established four in Patty Mills, Joe Ingles, Matthew Dellavedova, and Aron Baynes – with the former two to contest their fourth Olympics.

It has seven Olympic debutants including Danté Exum, Josh Green and Matisse Thybulle, who is the teammate of Ben Simmons at the Philadelphia 76ers.

Rising star Josh Giddey, Xavier Cooks and Brock Motum have also been named as replacement players.

The Boomers, who finished fourth in Rio, will launch their Olympics campaign against Nigeria on July 25. Before then, the Australian team will fine tune their preparations with exhibition matches against the United States, Nigeria and Argentina in Las Vegas.
